No for real this time! -or- February 28th

So it had been officially 15 days since my last run. My life has been insane and had lost all motivation to keep running. I have even contemplated not running at all in the SLC Half. Last week I made three attempts to run and all were diverted to more important things, (my kids) for one reason or another. But tonight I forced myself to run. I made it 1.5 miles. Oh how pathetic that was. However, I didn't eat before, I just got home from work and ran-literally. So here's the plan, buck up and get back on track. I now weight 213 lbs. Because of an issue at work, I have gained 10 lbs. I am under so much stress there, all I do is munch or suck down Diet Coke. Oh and let's not forget the Dunford Chocolate Donut stress pill I take a couple times a week. (I almost bought one tonight.)

I'm trying to do better, and keep strong. But man oh man, sometimes it's really hard and all I want to do is sleep.

MIA or February 18th

So, I've been missing in action lately. The action's been there, I've just been missing my chances to blog about them. For that, I apologize. It was actually really nice to hear from a few of you with your concerns about my absence in the blogging world. Thank you, to all those who kept bugging me to stay on course. So let me catch you all up.

February 5th:
3 miles
@ 38 mins
Full body weight routine

February 12th:
5 miles - first two miles up hill
@ 1 hour 13 mins
ONLY THREE MORE MINUTES THAN MY LAST 5 MILES THAT WAS RUN ON THE FLAT!!

I haven't been going to the gym as diligently as I know I should've been. Also, my diet has gone out the window. For lunch alone, I ate Cafe Rio and a chocolate donut washed down by my large Diet Coke. (I'm afraid 7 Eleven's 49cent refills will be the death of me.)

I've not stopped in my desire to do this. However, I have run into some stumbling blocks and lack of motivation. As much as I have tried to not be negative on this blog, or even dwell on my personal life, I do have to say that life really can get in the way of your goals. And I guess how badly you want your goal determines it's survival. Sometimes I ask myself, what made me want to do this? I don't have an answer. I hope to find it before I cross that finish line in April.

When I run, I don't let myself stop. I may slow down, change my stride, switch songs on the mp3, or time it so I "have" to wait for the light, but I don't stop, ever. I may be slow, but I finish strong. I am proud of myself for my achievements in this. And once again, thank you to all of you who cared to call, message or write that you missed my posts. It really shows me that I'm not doing this alone, that there will be people cheering for me when I cross that finish line. Thank you!

A pretty solid, fun workout tonight. I finally got a friend of mine to join me at the gym. Plus I ran into another good looking guy. Plus, plus, another great friend who's working hard on her running. Let's just say, it was a great night to be running.

February 1st

2 miles
Upper body and ab weight routine

I hate running at my gym lately. The constant turning on the track is rubbing my body all wrong. However, I did notice a few things in my leisure workout today. #1- When I run, my ring (the only one I ever wear) is so loose that it bounces when I do. #2- That my tummy looks a whole lot bigger, only because my upper thighs are getting smaller. Not too bad a day, I'll take it!
